The Hilltopper

Megan Benzing
Megan Benzing is a Junior here at Highlands Highschool. This is her first year taking Journalism
and is thrilled about the adventures to come. Megan has always had the desire to become a
journalist in the future. When Megan was little, she wrote all sorts of short stories with index
cards that she would store in a yellow container. For some constructive criticism, her grandma
would read over them and tell Megan what she would need to add and what needed to be
removed. However, this storytelling was when Megan was very young. When she got older, she
grew to like other interests such as tennis and soccer. But when 5 th grade started up, she took
journalism for her last year of elementary school. This made her realize how much she actually
enjoys to write. So now she is happy playing tennis, spinning in color guard and being able to
write like she has always wanted to in Journalism. She looks forward to the year ahead with the
“Savvy Six”.
