John Whitlatch, Design Editor
John Whitlatch is a senior at Highlands High School this year. This is his fourth year of journalism and is the design editor for The Hilltopper online newspaper and Highlander yearbook this year. He first started writing short stories for fun while in elementary and middle school. He thought that he may have wanted to be an author, but lacked in determination to finish any of the stories he wrote. Though he didn’t finish writing the stories he still continued to create stories John has other video games, listening to music and more recently filmmaking. Ever since he watched his first video on the internet he was fascinated how videos and movies could tell an interesting story without having a lot of equipment to start out with. John is planning to go to college next year and studying business and filmmaking. John is excited to see the new changes this year brings and hopes that you like them too.
