On Saturday, Nov. 1, Highlands’ girls’ soccer team fell 0-3 to Sacred Heart, dropping their season record to 15-10-2. Over the course of the 27-game season, Highlands scored 65 goals while allowing 29.
Offensively, Highlands struggled to find the back of the net against Sacred Heart’s stout defense, which limited scoring opportunities throughout the match. Despite creating chances, the birds were unable to convert.
Defensively, goalkeeper Bailee Class (10) made 10 saves during the game but let 3 goals in, showing a strong effort in net against Sacred Heart.
Highlands worked hard to keep the match competitive, holding the opposition to just three goals.
Highlands ended their season at the final round of the State Tournament at the Lexington Sporting Club. The birds look to come back next season stronger than ever, making it back to the finals of the state.
