Highlands, now 3-0, came through with another win, 55-13 over the Campbell County Camels last Friday, Sept. 5.
Offensively, Highlands racked up 183 rushing yards while allowing 82, with 376 passing yards, and allowed the Camels 165.
Quarterback Rio Litmer (12) led in pass attempts, completing 24 of 29 pass attempts for 312 yards and throwing 2 touchdown passes. Behind him, Bryce Armstrong (9) completed 4 of 7 pass attempts for 64 yards and threw 1 touchdown pass.
On the ground, Colton Kremer (10) led the rushing attempts with 2 carries for 59 yards, while Litmer added 52 yards on 6 attempts, both scoring one rushing touchdown.
In the receiving game, Gabe Williams (11) led with 4 receptions for 59 yards. Kremer contributed 3 receptions for 50 yards.
The team finished with 5 rushing touchdowns, 3 receiving touchdowns, 5 extra points scored, and 1 2-point conversion.
On defense, Griffin Benke (11) led the Birds with 3 solo tackles, all tackles for loss (TFL). Jack Price (12) followed with 1 assisted tackle, which was a TFL.
Jimi Cox (10) and Sam Feldbruegge (11) both recovered one fumble, and Williams had 1 interception for 36 yards.
Highlands will be heading to Danville, Kentucky, taking on Boyle County this Friday, Sept. 12, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
