On March 6th, 2024 Highlands High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team went up against Coopers Boys Varsity Basketball Team at Truist Arena for the 9th Region Boys Basketball Tournament. The final score of the game was 81-46 with the Cooper Juagers taking home the win.
The first quarter of the game was 16-4 with Cooper in the lead. End of the first half of the game the score was 31-17 Highlands racking up 13 points. At the end of the third quarter the score was 58-36 with Highlands progressing 19 points.
Senior Brayden Moeves said: “The game was intense and even though it was our last game together I enjoyed my experience at Highlands.”
After a disappointing game for the Bluebirds, Cooper won by 35 points to progress to the second round. This was Highlands senior’s last high school basketball game. They came out strong for their last game of the season and they will have many more wins to come.
The leading scorers of the game were senior Nathan Vinson with 15 points, junior Hank Shick with 12 points, and senior Lincoln Hicks with 6 points.
