Highlands High School has a fantastic art program and offers classes for students who are interested in the arts.
Students with a passion and skills tend to strive for their goals. At Highlands, we recognize our seniors by having an Art Signing Day, which will acknowledge seniors planning on doing art in college.
The following students signing on May 13, 2024, are: Liam Downie, Bella Anglin, Jillian Kendall, Sasha Tsymbal, Treiston Collins, Carter Frimming, Jack Haggard, Kenzie Henegar, Sam Herzog, Connor Mohr, Will Oldiges, Caroline Thaler, Paul McDonald, Evan Stuart, John Dougherty, Reagan Ziegler, Jameson Zoller, Avery Hagedorn, and Sophia Underhill.
These following seniors are signing because they have a passion for art. Some students will be announcing their intentions to pursue art, however, some will announce intentions in broadcasting, electronic media, film, and/or journalism. Others will announce their intentions to pursue music, theater, or interior design.
Senior Liam Downie said: “I will be going to Western Kentucky and majoring in Photojournalism because it’s something that I like doing and am good at.”
Photojournalism is something that you can experience before college in journalism. Getting to take an interest and finding a skill you love is a great feeling.
Senior student Cater Frimming said: “I am choosing to go to UC CCM (College-Conservatory of Music) because they have an excellent media production program. I am going into new media productions, sports productions, etc.”
For the upcoming seniors who follow their passions, find something you’re interested in. Good luck!
