Seniors reminisce their elementary school memories on special trip

Categories:

As seniors are preparing to leave Highlands, they are granted the opportunity to visit their elementary schools one last time. These trips have been an ongoing tradition that many seniors look forward to. This year the trip took place on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

During the school day seniors traveled with their fifth grade graduation class to one of the three Fort Thomas Independent Schools elementary schools Moyer, Johnson, or Woodfill, or the nearby Catholic schools, St. Catherine’s and St. Thomas.

When students arrived, they were greeted with familiar smiling faces and took part in several fun, elementary centered activities, such as four-square at recess. The seniors’ fifth grade graduation video was also played, causing plenty of laughter and tears.

Students got lunch and walked through the hallways with current elementary students cheering for the graduating class. Seniors were also able to visit their past teachers, whom many had retired and returned for the special day. Visiting former teachers that shaped their future education brings back fond memories for many seniors.
