Girls varsity basketball is back for the ‘25-’26 season

Categories:

As November approaches, the HHS girls’ varsity basketball team draws closer to their first game of the season. Everyone has been anticipating this season as there are incredible players in the lineup and a busy schedule.

In the 2024-2025 basketball season, the girls displayed an outstanding performance, finishing with a 22-9 overall record and putting the team in the number one spot in District 36, dominating the region. The girls have all been putting in work in the off-season and are ready to get back on the court.

“Team had some issues with communication”, and when asked if they were able to make any improvements, she said we definitely have made progress on it and have progressed in other aspects as well but really I looking forward to just having fun and enjoying my last season with my teammates,” Katie Bucher (12) said.

With improvements made during the off-season, students look forward to upcoming games.

“I am looking forward to the Notre Dame game, I think it’s gonna be a big game since it’s such a big school in the regular schedule. I think it will be super cool if we are able to win it,” Maren (10) said.

At the beginning of their 2024-2025 season, they started things off great by going on a seven-game win streak, averaging 57 points per game. If the team starts off this well, it would almost instantly put them in the number one spot for the district.

The girls’ basketball team undoubtedly has a great lineup with a great backing; they have what it takes to go to state, and will need to apply everything they have for the 2025-2026 season.
