Halloween is approaching, and the search for a costume is on. Many students at Highlands celebrate Halloween, and one of the main traditions of the holiday is dressing up in a fun and festive costume.
Halloween is an event that many people around the world can participate in. On this day, you dress up in costumes and go around different houses and neighborhoods to collect candy by saying one phrase, “Trick-or-Treat.” People also decorate their yards to make them seem scary for people walking around at night.
Halloween costumes vary annually; some are scary, classic, or even trendy. Trendy costumes like Disney characters or animals have taken over at Highlands this year.
Julia Luhn (12) said, “I have noticed minions a lot and many Disney characters that people are doing.”
Some students at Highlands lean more towards trendy costumes, and many come from movies or TV shows.
Jace Willoughby (10) noted, “I have noticed a lot of the trendy costumes on TikTok.”
Students have already picked out their costumes for Halloween’s upcoming arrival on the 31st.
Cole Lessuer (10) explained his costume, “I chose to be a prisoner because I thought it would be cool and chill.”
Many people like to dress up in couple costumes or match with their friends, having each person in the group dress up as one of the characters from a TV show, movie, or other piece of media. It’s something special that they can do to create memories that will last a lifetime. It is a unique way of bonding with one another.
Whether spooky, funny, or glamorous, picking a Halloween costume is a chance to let people express their creative sides.
