Culinary students sweeten Valentine’s Day with homemade treats

Categories:

On Feb. 12 and 13, the Bluebird Cuisine program, led by Kelsey Sentney, held a bake sale to raise money for their baking supplies. Culinary students worked hard to prepare a variety of sweet treats, carefully baking and packaging each item to ensure quality and presentation.

Among the popular items sold were chocolate-covered strawberries, priced at $2 each or $10 for six. They also offered crinkle cookies for $1 each or $5 for six. Another favorite was the conversation heart cookies, which were sold for $2 each or $10 for six. Lastly, customers could purchase chocolate cherry macaroons for $10 for six or $16 for 12

These items were sold through a link from a Schoology post; students ordered online and could pay with cash or check when the items were delivered.

The bake sale attracted many students and staff members who were excited to support the program while enjoying delicious homemade desserts. In total, the sale raised $300. These funds go straight back into the program, paying for the supplies that they need during labs.

The program’s next sale will be staff lunches, weekly for purchase.
