The Hilltopper

Libby Spiess
Libby Spiess is a Sophomore here at Highlands High School and has been in the
district since the end of kindergarten when she moved from Milford, OH where she went
to Mulberry Elementary School for half a year in kindergarten. After she moved, she
attended Woodfill for elementary school and Highlands for middle school. This is her
first year in journalism and her favorite part of journalism is taking pictures. Libby is the
middle child with one older brother Harrison and one younger sister Davis. Outside of
school, she is in the pool playing water polo as a center for the Mavericks. This is her 2 nd
year playing water polo and 1 st year playing for Cincinnati Mavericks water polo. She will
play Cincinnati Moose in the spring and summer. She used to swim year-round for
Cincinnati Marlins but finished her last season in 8 th grade. In her free time, she enjoys
baking things like French macarons, cakes, cinnamon rolls, and cheesecake. Here are
some fun facts about her: her favorite color is blue, her favorite animal is a dog and her
favorite place she’s ever travelled was either Nicaragua, Zion National Park or Maine.
After high school she wants to go to University of Cincinnati and continue playing water
polo.
