On Dec. 3, Highlands High School held their college signing ceremony for the senior class on scholarship. Highlands is proud to have 10 people signing to move on for their future careers and to continue to build academically and athletically. Beginning of the ceremony, Athletic Director Wes Caldwell was proud to celebrate these students in achieving one of the highest accomplishments you can receive in high school.
The students who Highlands celebrated on December 3rd are:
Reese Wilkins (12) signed to Thomas More University to continue her soccer career as a midfielder. The speaker for Wilkens (12) was Assistant Coach Nina Kearns.
Kaylee Mills (12) signed to Maryville College to continue her soccer career as a defender. The speaker for Mills (12) was Head Coach Kelsey Etherton.
Natalie Hinegardner (12) signed to Centre College to continue her soccer career as a midfielder. The Speaker for Hinegardner (12) was Goalie Coach Cal Frank. “Although Natalie’s season was cut short both years in a row. She still showed up and showed out for her team over and over again. And that’s what it takes to be a true sport and I’m glad Centre College sees that in Natalie.” Frank said.
Franny Smith (12) signed to Queens University of Charlotte to continue her soccer career as a defender. The speaker for Smith (12) was.
Vinny Listerman (12) signed to Thomas More University to continue his basketball career as a point-guard. The speaker for Listerman (12) was Head Varsity Basketball Coach Kevin Listerman. “I’m so proud of Vinny and not just as a coach, but as a father. To see him get these great opportunities from both sides.” Listerman said.
Max Merz (12) signed to University of Louisville to continue his football career as a center. The speaker for Merz (12) was Head Football Coach Bob Sphire.
Hayden Gessner (12) signed to Clarion University to continue her volleyball career as a defensive specialist/libero. The speaker for Gessner (12) was Head Volleyball Coach Jim Delong.
Morgan Pompilio (12) signed to College of Central Florida to continue her softball career as a 2nd base and shortstop. The speaker for Pompilio (12) was Head Softball Coach Milt Horner.
Peyton Brown (12) signed to Northern Kentucky University to continue her softball career as a corner and catcher. The speaker for Brown (12) was Head Softball Coach Milt Horner.
Kaitlyn Dixion (12) signed to Thomas More University to continue her softball career as a pitcher and 1st base. The speaker for Dixon (12) was Head Softball Coach Milt Horner.
Highlands is beyond proud to have great athletes like these 10 seniors and will continue pursuing to the best of their advantage to help future classes thrive academically and athletically to get opportunities like these.
