Boys’ varsity basketball earns a win against Holy Cross 84-72

Highlands earned an 84-72 victory over Holy Cross on Friday, Feb. 14.

The team had 25 rebounds. Tayden Lorenzen (11) led the team with nine rebounds. Vincent Listerman (12), Charlie Messmer (12), and Cale Harris (11) all shot two rebounds. Nathan Rickard (12) with four rebounds, and not far behind are Finn Bouldin (12) and Owen Ebert (12), with three rebounds. 

Highlands made 80.0% of their free-throw shots. With Rickard, Listerman, JP Shaffer (12), and Lorenzen making all their attempted shots. Not far behind is Amil Wimzie (8), going three for four. 

On 3-point field goals, Highlands made a 28.6% attempt rate. Wimzie made 100% of his shots, going one for one. Bouldin and Messmer both attempted two and successfully made one. Ebert went three for eight. 

On 2-point and 3-point field goals, the team had a 57.9% rate. With Tripp Nicholaus (12) making 100% of his shots, Bouldin going eight for 11, Rickard going five for seven, and Lorenzen going seven for 11. Leaving the game with the highest field goal rates. 

The team finished the game with 15 free throws attempted and 12 free throws scored.

Highlands takes on Simon Kenton High School at Simon Kenton on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 6:00 p.m.
