Girls Varsity Basketball blows out Bellevue, 71-26

Highlands secured a 71-26 victory over Bellevue last Friday, Jan. 23

Offensively, Highlands scored nine 3-pointers while allowing two, excelled in the mid range area with 18 2-point field goals scored, and limited Bellevue to just six.

Katie Bucher (12) led in rebounds with six, and then right behind her was Bailey Richey (9) and Maddy Lickert (11) both with four rebounds.

On offense, Madison Barlow (12) led in points with two 3-pointers and three 2-point field goals, while Sammy David (10) added two 3-pointers, a 2-point field goal, and two free throws.

The team finished with nine 3-pointers, 18 2-point field goals, eight free throws, and 28 rebounds.

Highlands will take on St. Henry at St. Henry this Wednesday, Jan. 28, with tipoff at 7:30 p.m.

Kinley Manning is a freshman at Highlands and has been enrolled in Fort Thomas Independent Schools since kindergarten. This is her first year taking journalism at Highlands. She is on the Highlands Junior Varsity dance team, and she dances for The Dance Realm. She enjoys hanging out with her friends and watching sports. Manning loves writing articles and taking sports photos.

Meadow Lynn is a freshman at Highlands. She plays basketball for the Highlands girls basketball team. Lynn enjoys hanging out with friends and family, drawing, and listening to music. This is her second year in journalism and she really enjoys it. Lynn wanted to take journalism because she has always been interested in photography and has fun taking photos.
