Freshman boys basketball puts up fight against Moeller

On Monday, Dec. 8, the Highlands Boys Freshman basketball team put up a great fight against the Moeller Crusaders with a final score losing 31-61. 

Bryce Armstrong (9) led the team in points scored, racking up a total of 11, with Rex Schlarman(9) right behind him with 7 points. 

Rex Schlarman(9) and Bryce Armstrong both attempted and made 3 free throws, followed by Bishop Strayhorn (9) attempted 2 and made 2. The team made a total of 10 free throws throughout the game. 

Conner Barlow successfully attempted a 3-pointer, which was the highest number of points scored on a single play by any player. 

 These Bluebirds will continue to show their hard work and dedication on the court at the next game on Monday, December 15th, at 5:30 against Lloyd High School.

Lindsey Berning is a junior at Highlands and has been enrolled in Fort Thomas Independent Schools since first grade at Woodfill Elementary. Lindsey decided to take journalism this year due to her interest in photography and her love for writing. Lindsey is also part of the Varsity Cheerleading team, which is her favorite activity/hobby outside of school. She works hard in the classroom and outside of it. She is planning to continue cheerleading all the way through high school, as well as taking journalism. Although she has a busy schedule, her determination allows her to do anything she puts her mind to. She is excited to see what this year has in store for her!
