On Saturday, the Highlands Boys Track teams won first place at the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association (KTCCCA) regional competition.

The weekend of February 25 was a very big opportunity for the boy’s track team. The team traveled down to Louisville to compete in the KTCCCA regional competition.

The team competed in the categories of long jump, high jump, hurdles, even short and long-distance. Senior Jake Welch competed phenomenally, winning the Class AA Indoor State 60 meter dash. His winning time ended up being 7.10 seconds.

Sophomore Ryan Reynolds said, “I personally had an amazing time down at Lousiville this weekend, I couldn’t be more satisfied with the outcome of our boys. We were able to come back with one more trophy. Congratulations to [Senior] Jake [Welch] for winning one of his races. Go Birds!”
