The “Percy Jackson and The Olympians” Disney premiere was the most watched premiere of any Disney release with a total of 13.3 million views. Rick Riordan and his portrayal of a young boy named Percy Jackson and his adventurous, yet daunting journey of discovery have finally been brought to life in this faithful adaptation of the PJO series. Riordan worked as an executive producer behind the scenes, overseeing the filming of season 1. This also allowed him to play a huge role in the casting, where he and the rest of the casting crew made some beautiful choices.

Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Arayan Simhadri nailed their roles as the iconic PJO trio where they portrayed Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood. Many OG fans like to say that the casting agents “shook the book” and that they “fell out” with how amazingly they managed to bring their characters to life. Each young actor/actress gave breathtaking performances, especially in episodes 4, “I Plunge to My Death”, and 5, “A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers.” Their near-flawless execution of emotion only further proved why they were the perfect choices for the roles, even with thousands of others auditioning.

Sophomore Ava Muzumdar expresses, “I loved the show, I mean how can you not? The casting was incredible and the actors nailed it, especially the main trio. They’re so young but did such an amazing job. I can’t wait to see what they do with the rest of the seasons.”

The show also has some veteran actors and actresses such as Adam Copeland, Virginia Kull, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Suzanne Cryer, Lance Reddick, and more. Their remarkable performances only amplified the virtuosity within the show. It is also important to applaud those working behind the scenes. They managed to create such an amazing series with beautiful graphics, set designs, and costumes.

Overall, an absolute bravo to those involved in the creation of the masterpiece that is Percy Jackson and The Olympians.
