This baseball season for the Highlands Freshman Baseball Team is coming to a fast end. Their tournament starts May 11 with their first game going against Beechwood. This team is nearly undefeated right now with a record of 21-4. The next game is on Wednesday, May 1 against St. Henry at 7:30 P.M. at St. Henry’s field.

Highlands has 6 games left over for the season until their big tournament, which is just around the corner. They are getting ready to beat the teams they have lost to, which are Ryle, Louisville St. X (twice), and Trinity.

Freshman Jaxon Roderick, a player on the team, said: “We are getting our minds ready to win against them again when we get the chance.”

Training every day to become better as one but also as a team. Energy and teamwork play a big role in baseball. Having a good mindset and keeping it during a game is challenging. But staying positive for your team’s sake and yours. They will find themselves at the top of the podium.

This is their first high school season, a big change from middle school. Going up against crazy talent and the best players in Northern Kentucky.

Freshman Peyton Zimmerman said: “Even though a lot of us were nervous to play this season we were all still very confident in what we could achieve this season.”

Let’s cheer on our Freshman Baseball Team as they make their way into their tournament. Carrying out a win for their team and our school.
