On February 18th, 2024 the Highlands Freshman Basketball Team were going against Covington Catholic’s Freshman Basketball Team in the 9th region championship. The final score was 38-35 with freshman Gabe Williams (25) having the last points making his free throws to finish the game.
The first quarter Highlands was down 7 points scoring 12-5. 2nd quarter Highlands had 17 points to make the second half final 22-19. At the end of the third quarter, the score was 28-28.
Freshman Peyton Zimmerman, on the Freshman Basketball Team, says, “When something in your life gets tough keep pushing through till success.”
After an intense game against Covington Catholic they pulled through and took home the win with a score of 38-35.
