The Highlands High School student section of the “OZONE” is different from other schools’ student sections. Leading up to the playoffs, the OZONE needs to be loud and show out.

In the past years, Highlands OZONE has not given much attention to other sports outside of football, the new leaders have tried to do a better job with giving other sports more attention this year.

Highlands OZONE, compared to other schools, has ventured outside of football this year with bigger crowds at soccer games and hopes to do the same with the winter sports.

The leaders have worked hard on giving sports more attention but have not gotten a lot of student spectators. They are hoping to do the same with some of the winter and spring sports as well.

OZONE leader, senior Jude Eckerle compared the Highlands OZONE to other schools.

“I think we have improved on sports that don’t get as much attention, especially with soccer, and hope to do more with other sports like bowling which don’t get as much attention,” said Eckerle.

The playoffs have begun, and it is important that when students show up, they show out, by dressing up to the theme and cheering.

OZONE leader, senior Chad Gesenhues shared his thoughts on the OZONE: “Everyone needs to participate and dress up to the theme.”

If you do plan on going to a playoff game dress up according to the theme and do the chants the leaders start.

Because this is the most important part of the season, leaders are planning new themes and new cheers for the OZONE.

When asked about the plans for the playoffs, Gesenhues said: “We will have more group themes and more chants.”

The O-Zone leaders are excited about the playoffs and are looking forward to what they can bring to the table in the upcoming games.

They hope to bring new ideas and cheers people will enjoy throughout the next games and improve on the problem with participation in cheers.

Senior Jude Eckerle said he is very excited about the plans for the OZONE, and can’t wait to make it even better leading up to the playoffs.

The OZONE has a great future ahead of it with lots of great leaders. All of the leaders are very excited to make changes and improve the OZONE in any way possible.
