Highlands brought home a 28-14 victory over the Cooper Jaguars last Friday, Aug. 29.
Offensively, Highlands racked up 194 rushing yards while allowing 98, with 186 passing yards, and allowed the Jaguars just 67.
Quarterback Rio Litmer (12) had a standout performance, completing 17 of 25 pass attempts for 180 yards and throwing 1 touchdown pass.
On the ground, Tayden Lorenzen (11) led the rushing attempts with 19 carries for 90 yards, while Gabe Williams (11) added 33 yards on 12 attempts.
In the receiving game, John Feldbruegge (11) led with 3 receptions for 81 yards, while also adding 1 touchdown pass reception. Williams contributed 4 receptions for 33 yards.
The team finished with 3 rushing touchdowns, 1 receiving touchdown, and 4 extra points scored.
On defense, Ryan Dunn (12) led the Birds with 1 solo tackle and 5 assisted tackles. Max Merz (12) followed with 3 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle.
Williams recovered one fumble, and Brady Carnohan (12) had 1 interception for 16 yards.
Highlands will be home at David Cecil Memorial Stadium, and will face Campbell County this Friday, Sept. 5, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.
