Highlands secured a 21-20 victory over Frederick Douglass in double overtime last Friday, August 22.
Offensively, Highlands racked up 180 rushing yards while allowing 81, with 133 passing yards, and allowed the Broncos to just 38. Quarterback Rio Litmer (12) had a standout performance, completing 13 of 18 pass attempts for 133 yards and throwing 1 touchdown pass.On the ground, Gabe Williams (11) led the rushing attempts with 18 carries for 84 yards, while Tayden Lorenzen (11) added 47 yards on 14 attempts.In the receiving game, Cale Harris (11) led with 8 receptions for 93 yards, while also adding 1 touchdown pass reception. Williams contributed 2 receptions for 17 yards. The team finished with 2 rushing touchdowns, 1 receiving touchdown, 1 extra point scored, and 1 2-point conversion.
On defense, Jack Price (12) made one solo tackle.
Highlands will be on the road this week and they’re headed to Cooper this Friday, Aug. 29, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
