The Birds lose to the Cougars

On Monday, August 18, the Highlands Varsity Boys soccer team took on Connor High School. After a hard fought match, the Cougars came out victorious with a score of 3-1.

Luis McVicker (11) scored the first-half goal for the Birds. McVicker has proved himself this season, as this is not the first time he has scored a goal for the team.

This was Highlands ‘fourth game of the season, giving them a season record of 2-2.

Despite this loss for the Birds, they have a bright season ahead, with their next game being against Madison Central on August 23.

Andrea Suarez Espinosa is a sophomore at Highlands High School. She is on the Track and Field team and enjoys spending most of her time with family and friends. Andrea spends a lot of time investing in her relationship with God through her Christian community and is involved in Highlands Navigators. She has been in publications for 2 years and keeps going for her interest in photography. She would aspire to keep taking photography more seriously in the coming years at Highlands.

Keira Kobida, Photo Assistant

Keira Kobida is a junior in high school, and has been part of the publications program for one year. She enjoys taking photos at both sporting and school events. Outside of school, Keira enjoys watching TV and hanging out with friends. She swims competitively for Highland’s varsity team, as well as for club swimming.
