Highlands Track Meet at St. Henry (NKAC D2 Meet)

The meet started at 4:30 with a schedule set to start all the races on time and get done with the meet in about three hours.

The first hiccup was during one of the girl’s relay races in lane one. The girl couldn’t hear the announcer so that delayed the race. Another problem was the speakers that connected to the microphone so the runners could hear when to run were falling to work.

But the issue that consumed the most time was during the girl’s shuttle hurdle relay. The day before they measured everything wrong requiring them to remeasure. Then, they messed it up again and it took close to 30 minutes for the race to start. When the meet finally ended it was five hours long, full of standing around. The next meet is on Saturday, May 4th at Scott High School.
