The bright opening show has millions of positive emotions and fans from all over the world. The World Cup started on November 21st, 2022 and the grand final is on 18 December 2022. This year Qatar hosts The World Cup. This country is located on the small eastern peninsula of Saudi Arabia.

It is the first time in history that the World Cup has been held at this time (from the middle of the fall until the winter). It is happening because this country has a super hot summer season (+ 40 degrees Celsius or +104 Fahrenheit). From the very beginning, the government wanted to do the competition in the summer and make artificial clouds. However, it cost $500000 for each cloud and the project was closed.

32 nations participate in the World Cup 2022. In addition to this, 8 huge stadiums were built in Qatar.  A total of 64 games will be played to decide the winners of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

There are 8 groups participating in this event: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H

Group A – Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands

Group B – England, Iran, United States, Wales

Group C – Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland

Group D – France, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia

Group E – Spain, Costa Rica, Germany, Japan

Group F – Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia

Group G – Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon

Group H – Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, South Korea

‘The show before the show,’ is how people named the opening ceremony in Qatar. The 30-minute opening ceremony impressed the thousands in attendance and billions watching around the whole world. The opening ceremony’s main goal was to unite people and soccer fans from different countries and show Qatari culture. The ceremony took place at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor. It was a great show, not just because of the thousands of performers and volunteers. It included appearances by Morgan Freeman and Ghanim Al-Muftah, and a performance by South Korean singer Jungkook of BTS. The first game was between Qatar and Ecuador.

Meet La’eeb, the Qatar 2022 official World Cup mascot! The name La’eeb, according to FIFA, is “an Arabic word meaning super-skilled player.” For a mascot meant to be a figment of someone’s imagination, FIFA still managed to find many adjectives used to describe it, including “courageous”, “uplifting”, “fun”, “playful”, “mischievous”, “youthful”, and an “adventurous spirit.”

The World Cup 2022 in Qatar has already become one of the most recognizable events in the whole world. It is an unforgettable experience not just for every player, but also for every fan of this sport. It is getting more and more exciting every day and every match. Who do you think will be the winner? The final game is on December 18th at 10 am (eastern)! Do not miss it!
