Strive for region: Highlands golf dominates the region and heads for substate

This past Monday, the boys varsity golf team took home the regional trophy. The Birds scored a combined number of 328 shots. 

Campbell County High School followed closely behind with a combined number of shots, totaling 339 shots.

Following behind Campbell County was Harrison County in third, Bishop Brossart in fourth, and Owen County in fifth.

Individually, Sophomore Hank Shick placed first in the region with 72 shots. As well Senior Joel Craft placed fourth overall with 78. 

On Tuesday the girls played at region, with the girls coming in 7th place. On Tuesday, Sophomore Jenna Richey shot a 90 and will be heading to substate on Tuesday, September 27. 

Boys compete at substate on Monday, September 26. If they play well they will move on to state.

Both courses will be 18 holes. 

Make sure to go and support both the boy and girl golf teams.
