On May 10, the Highlands High School girl’s softball team defeated the Dayton High School Green Devils 8-0. The night also included senior night, honoring seniors Caroline Class, Jules Shonkwiler, and Bri Tharps. With freshman Bailey Markus pitching alongside freshman Kiara Raaker, along with others in the outfield. Even with a win under their belts the Birds still fought to get that place.

Markus commented on how the game went, stating, ”I’m feeling really good after yesterday’s game, the pitcher was a little slower than what we are used to but we finally figured it out.”

Even with challenges to overcome, the birds continued to push through and take a win home for Highlands.

Junior Hailey Parks said, “The beginning of the game was a little rough but my team and I pushed through and won the game.”

The next game is on May 12th at 5:00 p.m vs. Campbell County.
