On April 17th, the Highlands girls’ softball team went up against Newport Central Catholic at their home field, Winkler Field. The score ended being 13-3 Highlands.

So far the girls have taken home three wins against Bishop Brossart, McNick, and now NCC. They have had six games with two being canceled from rain. At the beginning of the season, with half of their games won so far, they have more opportunities to take more wins home.

Michalea Brown, a senior who plays outfield, commented on how well she think the season is going so far.

Brown said, “I think this season is going well. Even though we had some bumps at the beginning of the season, I feel like we have finally been able to get back into the regular flow of things. I believe that we have enough talent and drive to get to State this season.”
