There are many great sporting events, but one that stands out is the NFL Draft. The NFL Draft is the event that makes many young adults’ dreams as a kid come true.
There are many big prospects the Bengals could get. But whoever they get needs to be a defensive or offensive lineman.
“I’d like to see James Pearce Jr. from Tennessee is a really good player. I think he will be a good NFL player at defensive end and offensive line wise. I think if a guy falls, you have to take him. If he is projected to be a top 10-15 pick, I think you gotta go get him. But I’d like to see them get a stud defensive end,” Varsity offensive coordinator for Highlands Football Hayden Sphire said.
Many great players in the draft could go number one. Many teams need many things and talents, but one player sticks out to many for this year’s draft—-Cam Ward.
He is a very well rounded quarterback with great college highlights.
“I think Cam Ward goes first. I think he’s got ridiculous arm talent. I think he’s to speed up a lot of his processing and feet, but I think he is the most talented Quarterback,” Sphire said.
Many speculations are going out around Shedeur Sanders. Is he going to go first round because of hype? Will he fall into a later round, or is he going first round because of his talent?
“I think he does I don’t think he should I think he’s kinda pretty unproven at this stage I think a lot of his draft stock is hype and I think he has a chance to be good but I don’t know if he is a first rounder ready but I do think he goes first round,” Sphire said.
A big name going around right now is Ashton Jeanty. His draft stock went up after his 2024 college season. But where will he be taken, and will he live up to the hype?
“I think he will be in the top 5. Because he just has freakish college highlights, but I think that would be taken too high,” Sphire said.
There have been many great running backs in the NFL. Ashton Jeanty could compare to many. He is a shorter running back but is freakishly strong.
“Mark Ingram, he was short, but when he gets going, he can run people over, and he is hard to tackle, but you know, I think they are fairly similar,” Michael Tincher (10) said.
With the draft coming up, there are many things that fans think the Bengals need. There are many ways they could go. They definitely need big guys for each side of the ball.
“I think you have to go to the offensive line cause you invest so much money into Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase but at the same time they’re pretty bad on defense, so I could see them going either way and taking the best player available, either an offensive lineman or a defensive line,” Sphire said.
