5 Exciting Video Game Releases in 2019

Resident Evil 2

The remake of Resident Evil 2, a survival horror game, is set to be released on January 25th of this year. A game that was originally released in 1998 by Capcom.

This game’s Demo is out now but, uniquely, it is a one-time play through. You get one time to play as far as you can in 30 minutes, stopping only when you die or the time runs out.

Some new exciting features have been added to the game such as a new combat knife attack which you can use to defend yourself in close range against zombies.

This game, with its gorgeous graphics, is also rumored to have an adaptive difficulty. Depending on how fast you are going through the map and solving the puzzles, the difficulty of the zombies will be set accordingly.

Overall this game seems to be a promising remake of a nostalgic game that hopefully proves to be just as good as the original.

Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11, scheduled to be released on the 23rd of April will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Many MK fans are excited for the new release but some upsetting news for some was just released. Patrick Seitz, the person who has voiced the character Scorpion for close to 10 years, will not be voicing the beloved character in MK 11.

Despite this disappointing news, in early December the full 28-character roster was supposedly leaked which is available online.

For MK fans this is an exciting step forward in graphics and an even bigger step forward for the storylines of the characters that players love.

Not only has the trailer hyped up the fans with its gory action, but it has also showcased the stunning graphics that you can check out for yourself by clicking the link below.

Skull & Bones

If Assassins Creed: Black Flag and Sea of Thieves had a love child it would be Skull & Bones. Ubisoft’s newest game is scheduled to release sometime during 2019.

In this game, there are no heroes. You play as a pirate in a vast, shared open world map. The world is constantly changing and players will need to take into account wind speed, weather, and trade routes when playing.

This game is mostly multiplayer even though it will have some single player aspects. Voice chat is apparently very crucial for this game because of the teamwork needed in most multiplayer modes.

The game is also supposed to mirror real tactics used by real pirates, an intriguing aspect of the game that will hopefully pay off.

If you are a fan of pirates and the play style of Black Flag than this game is for you.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world, roleplaying game that was adapted from the 1988 board game Cyberpunk 2020. Cyberpunk is a game that many claim will revolutionize the way that kids and adults alike play video games.

Now it is almost 2020 and the original game’s dystopian world has become a reality. This game has been in the making for over 8 years but has been pushed recently by the Polish government for it to be released sooner, rather than later. CD Projekt Red, a Polish video game company that made The Witcher 3 however, is refusing to be hurried.

The game is set in ‘Night City’, a dystopian megacity filled with flying cars, skyscrapers, and of course, organized crime. Due to the graphic nature of this game, it is recommended for mature audiences only which I’m sure will stop nobody from playing the game.

Cyberpunk has an interesting concept, no one is arguing that, but an even more intriguing aspect of the game is that it will have no load time.

Cyberpunk will also have no auto-generated content, meaning everything in the game is handmade.

The game is large, to say the least, but it is not the typical open world type of map. The underground subway system and tunnels, as well as the detailed skyscrapers, makes this game vertically complex as well.

Cyberpunk is personally my most anticipated game release of 2019 and while the release date is set to be September and December of this year, the release date has been pushed back in the past making the real date of release mostly unknown.

However, for many long-time followers of Cyberpunk, the most exciting thing about the game is the crazy amount of detail. Which many people believe is something that shouldn’t be rushed.

Anthem

Anthem is a game set to release on the 22nd of February by EA. This game is often compared to Destiny in its play style.

The game centers around freelancers will always be in a Javelin, a complex suit of power armor. These suits will be fully customizable with different parts, colors, and emotes.

The Javelin has 4 classes, Ranger, Colossus, Storm, and Interceptor, each will be unique and will have its own abilities. The suits have been compared to Iron Man’s suit.

EA, known as the king of microtransactions, has stated that there will be no loot boxes in this game which to state it lightly ruffled some feathers because of EA’s long history of wringing people’s wallets dry.

If you are looking for a game similar to Destiny that is customizable and requires a lot of teamwork, then this is for you.
