In 2017, a solar eclipse came through Fort Thomas, but it was nothing too exciting.

Six years later, it’s happening again.

The solar eclipse will run through 15 states but will be visible from all 50 states. The totality lasts about four and a half minutes but takes approximately two and a half hours.

Since the announcement of the eclipse, people have been traveling far and wide to experience it. On a usual April day,  hotels and Airbnb’s located in the eclipse path of totality are at 30% occupancy, yesterday about 97% of tourist accommodations were reserved for eclipse hunters .

Since the sun is completely covered by the moon,  citizens can expect a significant temperature drop for the duration of the eclipse.

The solar eclipse isn’t the only exciting thing in the sky this week, The Devil Comet is a rock twice the size of Mount Everest and revolves around the sun once every 72 years. If you are brave enough to look around you might be able to spot it, but keep your safety glasses on
