On December 6th, Mrs. Kelly Pratt-Booth was voted Teacher of the Year by the Fort Thomas Independent School District. Booth has been at Highlands High School for over 10 years, teaching AP and regular World History.
One of her AP students, Sophomore Sydney Lehman, stated: “Mrs. Booth always goes the extra mile to make sure we have what we need to learn. It’s no surprise she’s the teacher of the year.”
This year, our midterm exam week schedule is a little different. Instead of having the two filler review days, we have a shortened 3-day week. This is a relief for both students and teachers.
There are some common rules such as no phones and the test will always be in lockdown browser. She also discussed that the exam should be no mystery to her students as they are provided practice opportunities when learning the units.
There will be no opportunity for test corrections because students are given everything they need to pass including note packets, practice quizzes, and unit study guides. She does everything she can to provide students with the tools they need to prepare for the class and final exams.
The history teacher stated, “I think it’s important that students be successful. I want to see that they can demonstrate the skills and knowledge we’ve learned throughout the quarters.”
