Creative Writing Club sells Chocolate

This Tuesday-Friday, the 19th through the 22nd, the Writing Club will be selling small bags of assorted candies in the lobby after school. They will be $2 each and all money raised will be going to the club so they can enter various contests and do fun things together.

So far, the club has made 15 bags bursting with starburst, skittles, kit-kats and REESE’s eggs. There are options for those who are allergic to peanuts and peanut products. A limerick written by a club member will be attached to each bag.

One bag has a golden coin inside and the person who wins the coin will win a prize. The person who picks the bag with the gold inside should bring the bag, the limerick, and the gold coin to Mrs. McCormick, room 214.

Senior Club President Emrel Woody stated, “Everyone in the club worked really hard with putting the bags together at our last meeting and I think this sale will go very well this week. Good luck to those that buy, a gold coin just might be awaiting you!”

These are a few of the featured limericks:

Samuel Contreras:

From Ireland come many lucky things

With Leprechauns dancing and fairy rings

And in a festive manner, most sincere,

We wish you the absolute cheeriest

St. Patrick’s Day atmosphere!

Lauren Jamie:

There was a shimmer of bright light

A beautiful sight indeed

A rainbow’s shine

It is truly divine

A day of mite, oh St. Patty’s day

Elijah Smith:

St. Patrick’s is my favorite day

Filled with bright colors, not grey

The rainbow will mold

The path to the gold

As the happy leprechauns play
