Last Thursday, the Freshman Baseball Team faced off against Simon Kenton Pioneers in a home game at Highland Park.
Freshman Adam Forton was the starting pitcher for the Birds and gave up 0 runs in the first inning. In the bottom of the first, the birds went on to score 3 runs, getting a lead on Pioneers 3-0.
In the second inning, the Birds kept the Pioneers at 0 runs, and scored 1 run, adding to their lead making it 4-0.
In the third inning, the Birds let up 2 runs but made up for it in the fourth inning by scoring 1 run, making the score now 5-2.
The Birds kept their lead for the rest of the game, to make the final score 7-2.
The Freshman Baseball Bluebirds play their next home game on Friday, April 1 at 5:00 at Highland Park.
