Tips and tricks to get ready for the Winter Ball

Music blaring, as every Highlands High School student is screaming the words to the song. This is what the atmosphere of the Winter Ball can feel like for many. 

The Winter Ball was pushed back a couple of months due to the spread of COVID-19. This year, the Winter Ball is being held in the HHS gym, unlike previous years where the location was off-campus. 

Here are a few tips and tricks to help get ready for the dance:

Brio is a nice Italian restaurant that has a variety of different pasta dishes. However, Brio might not be affordable for all as they are a little expensive but is a great place to go with friends or date before the dance.

Blinkers is a nice restaurant with a different variety of food. Depending on what you get, this restaurant is a bit expensive. If you like burgers and steaks, this is a great place to go!

X-Nails (Madeline Elkins)

X-nails is a close and convenient place that has great reviews. They can do almost any style you want and can do pedicures and manicures. X-nails is located in the Newport Plaza near Walgreens.

If you are looking for a great place to have your hair done, Ulta may be the place for you. It is affordable and is convenient, as it is located in the Newport Plaza right next to Target and Kroger. 

The most important thing to have for going to a dance is a dress. There are many places to get dresses but here are a couple of ideas for places to get your dress.

If you are looking to get your dress in person, Nordstrom is a great place to get your dress. Nordstrom is convenient and you are able to try on your dress in person.

Lucy in the Sky is a great place to get your dress online. Lucy in the Sky is very popular and has a bunch of different styles of dresses. However, one downside is that you can’t try on your dress in person.
