Oldham is ready to get the ball after Highlands took a shot.

On February 15, the Highlands High School boys varsity basketball team lost to Oldham County High School. The final score was 72-59 Oldham. Initially, that tip-off goes to Highlands, starting off with the game. Senior Cole Kocher was on fire with his 2 pt shots.

At the end of the first quarter, Highlands led by 1 point, with a score of 13 to 12.

By the end of the second quarter, the score was 28-27 Oldham, HHS losing by 1.

“We had defense miscommunication,” said Kocher.

This was not Senior Zach Barth’s best game, as Oldham’s defense was too good for him and the rest of the team. For Oldham, Hayden Burgess was the best defense, and Barth couldn’t seem to get around.

At the beginning of the fourth, they were 51  to 47, Oldham down by 4.

Highlands is slowly scoring little by little but, it is not enough.

“I have more confidence and  I have improved overall,” said Sophomore Zach DeSylva.

The next game is tonight, February 25, at 7:30.
