On February 19, the Highlands High School freshman girls basketball team lost to Notre Dame Academy with an end score of 27-38.

However, Ladybirds started off rocky, ending the first quarter with a total score of 12-17.

The second quarter started with the Ladybirds shooting three-pointers, bringing the score to a deficit of 3.

“I feel like it got more intense knowing that we were down by a few and could come back,” said Freshman Ella Cox.

With only being down by a few points, as the third quarter began Highlands stepped up their mental game, knowing that they were going to try to bring home that last win.

The last quarter was approaching and the Lady Birds weren’t doing so good, as they were down by a couple of points. The girls lost with a final score of 27-38 in their last game of the season.
