PHOTO GALLERY: Boys Varsity Basketball Birds take down Holy Cross in rivalry game
Last night, January 3, the boys varsity basketball team won with a score of 87-72 against Holy Cross High School. The team was led by Junior Will Herald and Senior Zach Barton both with 28 points and Oliver Harris with 13 points.
The Birds started off down by 3, with a score of 10-13 in the first quarter. However, to end the second quarter, the Birds took the lead with a score of 38-31.
Even though they took multiple fouls in both halves, overall the team wasn’t in a lot of foul trouble.
During the second half of the game, the Birds kept the lead with a score of 66-55 in the third quarter, making the boys record now 9-4.
Junior Will Herald said, “It was a tight game, we had really good passes and had great teamwork.”
The Birds will play their next game away at Newport Central Catholic on January 6 at 7:30.
