Last Friday, August 27, the Highlands High School varsity football team dominated the Simon Kenton Pioneers (SK). The birds ended the game with a score of 53-38 Highlands. This is the first time the birds have had an undefeated start season since 2018.

Senior Clayton Lloyd started the game for the birds with the first two touchdowns in the first quarter.

The birds kept up the momentum throughout the game, with a score of 29-8 in the second quarter.

Although, the Pioneers fought back hard, making 36-25 as the end score of the third quarter.

Despite this, the birds finished out strong making the end score 53-38.

Friday was a fun experience for Junior quarterback Charlie Noon.

“Playing Friday was just a bunch of fun everyone was playing with a bunch of energy and putting in their all.”

The next varsity football game is this Friday, September 3, at the home field and is against Campbell County High School.
