Natalie Shearman, Staff
Natalie Shearman is a senior at Highlands High School and is going to be attending Western Kentucky University in 2021. Natalie has never taken journalism before but has been writing short stories since she was young. She also has a huge love for reading and writing short stories.
Natalie has been a huge fan of reading for a majority of her life. As a toddler, she could make out words with whatever alphabet blocks she could use. When she got into middle school, Natalie was introduced to her favorite stories: The Outsiders, Speak, and To Kill a Mockingbird. Natalie also loves to write whenever she can. Around the same time she was introduced to her favorite stories, she was participating in a poem competition where the best poems were going to be in a book full of poems. Natalie’s poem about spring was one of the lucky ones to be published. Natalie moved here during the first half of her freshman year and has lived in Fort Thomas for almost three years.
Outside of school, Natalie is a huge fan of the Cincinnati Reds, traveling, and the hit musical, Hamilton. During her Junior year, she was an active member of the Green Club and the Book Club but had to leave those clubs due to her being extremely busy with being part of the HHS Publications team. When Natalie is not busy, she spends time with her family, reading, playing games, listening to some of her favorite songs, or watching YouTube. Natalie would like to thank Mrs Brubaker so much for pushing her to be successful.
