Highlands volleyball faced off against Beechwood in a highly competitive match-up on Thursday, Oct. 3.
Despite a hard-fought effort, the Bluebirds came up short but showed strong performances across the board.
Beechwood’s attack was led by standout efforts, including 7 kills from Taylor Janosick (11), 25 digs from Hayden Gessner (12), 12 assists from Audrey Sorrentino (12), and 6 aces from Liz Perkins (12).
For Highlands, the night meant a lot to Perkins, who reached a major milestone of 500 kills in her high school career.
The team overall is currently ranked 23rd in the state as they continue to demonstrate consistency and resilience while heading on to their final matches of the season.
Highlands will look to come back when they take on Simon Kenton at home this Monday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m.
