On Tuesday, February 4 the cheer team performed their national routine to the community in the middle school gym. This event was a way to send off and support the cheer team before they traveled to Orlando to compete in Nationals.
“I think it was very good for our team to display our routine in front of friends and family and show off our hard work,” said Lily Cleveland (12).
The team has high hopes going into nationals with their impressive performance in the season so far. The team has won multiple competitions, including UCA Regionals and KHSAA Regionals. They also had a great performance at state, earning them third place which is the best the team has placed in Highlands History.
The team will leave on February 7 and will compete in the semi-finals on February 9 and the finals on February 10.
