Highlands Girls Soccer team won 3-0 versus Cooper High School on September 18, 2023.
In the first 20 minutes, the girls took the first lead with Sophomore Reese Wilkens making a goal.
As it got closer to halftime, Highlands was driving down the field with minutes to go, senior Laney Smith found the opening and scored the game’s second goal with three seconds left before the half.
Highlands was playing great defense, not letting up any goals, and snagged a goal by senior Claire Cavacini to make the score 3-0.
During the game, Cooper couldn’t get into a rhythm resulting in a Highlands shutout.
"I thought it was good competition but we were able to move the ball around better and find goals," said senior Ali Sower.
