Super Bowl LIX is less than two weeks away and as the semi-finals just wrapped up this past weekend, it is time to look ahead. This year’s match-up in New Orleans includes the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
As the NFL is looking at another Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl, one question is on everyone’s mind; will Kansas City take home another Super Bowl win or can Philadelphia pull through?
“I think it will be a physical and good match-up,” Jaxon Roderick (10) said.
This will be Philadelphia’s second Super Bowl in the last three years, their last appearance being in 2023, but not bringing home a win since 2018.
The Eagles have good standings this season with a 14-3 record, holding the number one spot in the NFC East. They carry a .824 Pct. [winning percentage] for the season, 463 total points were scored, and 303 total points were scored against the team.
During the playoffs, Philadelphia beat the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round with a score of 22-10. In the divisional round, they beat the Los Angeles Rams 28-22. To secure their place at the Super Bowl they beat the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the conference championship.
“I need the Chiefs to lose this year. I want to see the Eagles win,” Carly Skirvin (9) said.
For the Chiefs, this will be their third return to the Super Bowl in a row, taking home a win the last two times. The Chiefs have amazing standings this season with a 15-2 record, holding the number one spot in the AFC West. They hold a .882 Pct., 385 total points scored, and 326 total points scored against the team.
During the playoffs, Kansas City received the number one seed and didn’t have to play during the Wild Card round. In the divisional round, they beat the Houston Texans 23-14. To secure their place at the Super Bowl they beat the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the conference championship.
Based on the statistics listed, the Kansas City Chiefs are suspected to take home the win this year.
“Personally, I don’t think Patrick Mahomes deserves another win. I don’t like him at all,” Caroline Weber (10) said.
The Super Bowl will be held on February 9, 2025, at 6:30 PM and can be watched on FOX and other streaming channels.
