Highlands had a 28-24 home field win over the Ryle Raiders last Friday, Sept. 19.
Offensively, Highlands racked up 150 rushing yards while allowing 175, with 76 passing yards, and allowed the Raiders just 127.
Quarterback Rio Litmer (12) had a standout performance, completing 5 of 9 pass attempts for 45 yards. Tayden Lorenzen (11) followed, completing 2 of 2 pass attempts for 17 yards.
On the ground, Lorenzen led the rushing attempts with 25 carries for 94 yards, scoring 3 touchdowns with those attempts. Gabe Williams (11) added 27 yards on 11 attempts.
In the receiving game, Williams led with 2 receptions for 24 yards. Lorenzen contributed 3 receptions for 18 yards.
The team finished with 3 rushing touchdowns, 1 interception return touchdown, and 4 extra points scored.
On defense, Jimi Cox (10) led the Birds with 1 solo tackle, that being a defensive sack. Ryan Dunn (12) followed with 1 solo tackle, being tackle for loss (TFL).
Dunn
recovered one fumble, and Williams had 1 interception for 42 yards.
Highlands will be on the road at Harrison County High School this Friday, Sept. 26, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
