Highlands dominated Friday night’s game against Campbell County with a 34-0 victory. The team had 170 rushing yards and 239 passing yards total while holding their opponents to just 147 rushing yards and 91 passing yards. Rio Litmer (11) led the passing game, completing 15 of 21 attempts, including one touchdown and one interception. Devon James (12) was the leading rusher with 55 yards on 7 attempts, scoring two touchdowns. Jack White (12) contributed 42 rushing yards on 7 attempts.
Adam Surrey (12) stood out in receiving with 76 yards on 4 receptions, including a touchdown. Jackson Arnold (12) also added 69 yards on 4 receptions. Surrey contributed a second touchdown after an interception return, along with a 2-point conversion, while Logan Nickelman (12) kicked two field goals and extra points. Defensively, Dom Gregory (12) recovered two fumbles, Gabe Williams (10) recovered one, and Torin Bryant (12) led the team in tackles with two as Highlands combined for a total of 10 tackles.
The Birds are now 3-0 and will face Ryle on the road this Friday, September 13, at 7 p.m.
