The girls’ soccer team faced off against Sacred Heart Valkyries this Monday at Northern Kentucky University. The game went on steadily with each team taking shots at goal but the score remained 0-0 after the first half. At the beginning of the second half, the Valkyries scored to put them up 0-1. The Birds didn’t let this face them, and kept their intensity and spirits high. A pass from Franny Smith (11) to Tenley Graves (11) resulted in a goal for the Bluebirds halfway into the second half. The game went on and with less than 15 minutes left the Valkyries scored, making the score 2-1. The Birds fought hard but ended up short, losing 1-2.
