HHS girls basketball team lost to the Ryle Raiders 49-43 in the semifinals of the 9th region tournament which was held at Northern Kentucky University’s Truist Arena. The Birds won against Notre Dame Academy in the quarter finals, advancing to the semifinals.
Going into the District and Regional tournaments, Ryle, the runner ups from the 33rd district, had an 18-10 win loss record for the regular season, with Highlands, champions from the 35th district, having a record of 19-8. Sophomore Saylor Macke and Junior Marissa Green were the top scorers of the game with Macke having 12 and Green having 15. The team had a total of 16 rebounds, with sophomore Katie Bucher having the highest at 6. There were a total of 7 three-point shots for the entire game. Sophomore Kaylee Mills made three, three-point shots. Along with her, Macke made three, three-pointers as well and a half court shot.
