This year, Hoops for Hunger balled out.
Multiple games were played between the boys and girls freshman, JV, and Varsity.
During the scrimmages, the freshman boys’ team got to test their skills against the JV. The freshman lost but they got to compete and grow their experience.
It was difficult during the girls’ scrimmages because they were short on players this year. Because of this, middle schoolers were asked to take higher roles. These middle schoolers are eighth grader Maren Orme and Gabby Neufarth, and seventh grader Bailey Richey.
The programs then showcased a boy’s vs girl’s three-point shoot-out. The juniors competed against the freshmen and the seniors against the sophomores. Even with being the underdog in this competition, the freshman put out a win in the fun shoot-out.
They also had a three-point contest between fans which went well enough. The contestants had more trouble but they still made it entertaining.
The last challenge of the night was the senior moms’ relay race. The parent had to dribble between cones and then pass it to their child who would have to attempt a three-pointer then they would switch and keep alternating spots till the timer went off.
This night also showcased our cheer and dance teams.
This was another successful Hoops for Hunger—next year looks to be even more electric.
