On Sunday, October 29, the Minnesota Vikings suffered yet another injury and an additional setback to their season. With their offense already taking a blow from their star Wide Receiver, Justin Jefferson injured his hamstring and was placed on IR. Quarterback Kirk Cousins suffered a torn achilles against the Packers.
Cousins, who was also featured in the new Netflix series, “Quarterback” has been with the Vikings since 2018. Cousins has never left a game due to injury before. That has changed due to November 1. Report from Twin Cities Orthopedics, Kirk underwent successful surgery on his torn achilles. Cousins is known widely around the NFL fan base but he is huge in the Vikings franchise and fanbase being their star veteran QB.
The pressure is on for backup QB Jaren Hall. Hall is a 5th-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft out of BYU. In college, Hall threw for 6,174 yards, 52 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Can Vikings fans believe in Hall? Or is their season in jeopardy with the loss of Jefferson and Cousins?
The Vikings are currently in second place in the NFC North. The Vikings stand behind the Detroit Lions who are currently 6-2. Behind the Vikings are the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears both at 2-5. The Vikings had an impressive season last year winning the North and ending their season 13-4. The last time they did that was 2017 when they capped the North and ended 13-3.
